CUT AND BLOWDRY OR WET CUT?
Did you know that the hair has Hydrogen Bonds inside? When the hair is wet, the Hydrogen Bonds are broken, allowing hair to be formed into a new shape and as the hair dries they are re-formed in a new position thus holding the new shape. Without blow drying off the hair then checking it for graduation or weight where it shouldn’t be, the haircut is only half done. The finish to a haircut is achieved after the blow dry as the stylist can check off any stray hairs from the perimeter, bulk in the layers, corners or weight where two different techniques meet and personalize your haircut to your own personal head of hair.
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OMBRE AND BALAYAGE?
Ombre is the transition of a lighter shade from a darker shade. Generally, ombres work best on brunettes because it is the least subtle of all the techniques. Ombre is typically more maintenance, it is kind of like color blocking, there are no dark pieces left on the bottom to help keep it natural, just a nice transition between the colours.
When applying the color for a balayage, you sweep the color through small triangle sections of the hair onto a board or foil, giving it the natural transition down into the lighter color. In Balayage, there are dark pieces left on the bottom to create dimension and a more natural look. This technique looks like natural sun-kissed highlights throughout the hair. The transition is more natural and it is less maintenance than an ombre.
We require a patch test 48 hours prior to any colour application to the scalp.
